New Schools—
Councilmember Garcetti is helping more than fifteen new schools get built in his district. He believes that the best facilities are neighborhood-based schools that include joint-use community facilities like playgrounds, libraries, and computer labs.

After-School Programs—
Having expanded the number of schools with after-school programs in his district, Councilmember Garcetti is working to bring an after-school program to every school in his district.

More College Scholarships and Expanding Literacy —
Councilmember Garcetti will protect and expand the Free Cash for College program which he helped start, already the nation’s largest college scholarship fair. He is helping to implement a new literacy program in the city that helps students and their parents get the skills they need to get good-paying jobs.
